Ellerslie racing tips
—
Race 1. (10:20) Barfoot & Thompson BM65 (1400m)
#2 â Overdrawn @ $4.20
Overdrawn hasnât done much wrong lately, including a win at New Plymouth.
The Tony Pike-trained three-year-old followed it up with placings at Tauranga and Trentham, and running at Ellerslie wonât worry him.
This is the time of the year when this stable gets hot.
Race 3. (11:30) Vertical Logistics Nathans Memorial (2200m)
#8 â Infer @ $2.10
Infer has emerged as the most promising stayer in New Zealand after posting consecutive wins.
The Team Rogerson-trained gelding couldnât have been more impressive last start at Otaki, and although this is harder, he looks set to cope.
Carrying 54kg makes him a great bet.
Race 5. (12:52) Haunui Farm Kingâs Plate (1200m)
#4 â Bonny Lass @ $2.70
Bonny Lass got back to her best last time out with a Group 1 BCD Sprint victory.
The five-year-old mare had always shown promise at the top level, and she could kick on with it now.
She owns two wins and two placings at Ellerslie, so the course specialist is in our picks.
Race 7. (14:03) Mainstream Plumbing Mufhasa Stakes (1400m)
#2 â Pericles @ $7
Pericles is an often-underrated type, but after winning at Ellerslie last time out, he demands respect.
The three-year-old gelding by Rubick owns three wins from seven starts overall, and the Moroney stable is firing this season.
Drawing barrier two adds to his appeal.

Wingatui racing tips
—
Race 1. (10:00) Dakota Boutique 2YO (820m)
#1 â Nucleozor @ $2.30
Punters should always take note of a Te Akau debutante that has been well-backed to win.
The two-year-old son of Almanzor won a trial at Riccarton Park, and racing at Wingatui should be right up his alley.
The $2.30 could firm considerably on race day.
Race 3. (11:10) Dunedin City Motors BM75 (2200m)
#4 â Patsys Lass @ $6
Patsys Lass has yet to race on this track, but the former Northerner shouldnât be too worried.
She is a seven-time winner overall, and there are no superstars to beat in this field, so she could take advantage.
Take the each-way odds before they firm.
Race 5. (12:21) Speightâs BM65 (1200m)
#1 â Justanace @ $5
Justanace has been a model of consistency throughout his career, including a win and four placings from his last five starts.
The Pitman-trained five-year-old owns a win and two placings at Wingatui, so having track experience helps.
Getting 3kg off his back could be enough to see him win.
Race 7. (13:39) Nellies Restaurant & Bar BM75 (1400m)
#3 â Divine Sava @ $4
Looking to cap off consecutive second placings is Divine Sava, who won her only start at Wingatui.
The five-year-old mare by Savabeel is only a three-time winner from 33 starts, but sheâs worth another go.
Punters get odds worth taking on race day.
