Riccarton racing tips
—
Race 2. (10:45) Entain Peal Series 2YO (1000m)
#1 â Nucleozor @ $1.70
Nucleozor couldnât have been more impressive on debut when scoring by a half-length.
The two-year-old gelding by Almanzor showed an excellent turn-of-foot after looking beaten, and thatâs a good sign for the future.
The odds are short, but heâs all class.
Race 4. (11:55) Johnny Fresh Sprint (1400m)
#6 â Mystic Park @ $2.25
Mystic Park is already a three-time winner this preparation, and he has more upside than most.
The Pitman-trained four-year-old owns four wins and three placings from eight starts, and two of those wins have come here.
Carrying 54kg is a steal.
Race 5. (12:30) Cochranes Farm BM75 (2000m)
#2 â Aristocrat @ $2.90
Aristocrat is shooting for three consecutive wins after scoring at Riccarton Park in fine style.
The four-year-old son of Savabeel has finished out of the money only once from five starts at Riccarton, and heâs the form runner.
Weâre happy with the current odds.
Race 6. (13:12) Seaton Family Hororata Gold Cup (1800m)
#1 â Green Luck @ $5.50
Green Luck is better for three runs this preparation, and his experience should take him close.
The nine-year-old owns nine wins and 11 placings from 56 starts, so weâre happy to stick with him at the each-way odds.
Getting 3kg off his back adds to his appeal.
Tauranga racing tips

Race 1. (10:25) Bayleys Tauranga 3YO (1400m)
#2 â You Say Dâorsay @ $3.30
You Say Dâorsay lost no admirers when running second at Ellerslie last start, which followed consecutive wins.
The Chris Wood-trained three-year-old won well at Te Rapa and Matamata, and thereâs little wrong with that form.
This isnât an easy race, but heâs the most promising.
Race 3. (11:35) Peter Clarke Bayleys BM75 (1400m)
#9 â Hat Trick @ $3.00
Looking for a hat trick of wins is Hat Trick, who defeated a good field at Ellerslie last time out.
The four-year-old got the better of You Say Dâorsay, so form earlier on the card could stack up nicely.
Punters get better odds than we expected for a quality type in the making.
Race 4. (12:10) Triton Pacific Owens BM82 (1200m)
#2 â Aris Aris @ $2.80
Aris Aris doesnât have any winning form this preparation, but she has been facing tricky fields.
The five-year-old mare won her only start at Tauranga, and having winning form on this track is a big asset.
Getting 3kg off her back adds to her appeal.
Race 6. (13:20) Sharon Hill BM65 (2100m)
#11 â Savacat @ $5.00
Savacat doesnât have the most impressive form line, but she should appreciate this level of opposition.
The daughter of Savabeel is only a one-time winner, but she has finished behind the likes of Major Major and Grace âNâ Glory.
Her winning form shouldnât be too far away.
