7:50pm Penrith Panthers vs Melbourne Storm @ Accor Stadium
The Penrith Panthers have stormed into the finals, excuse the pun. They have been the best team all year, and despite some injury problems at times, they’ve managed to put that to the side and cruise into the Grand Final qualifying contest.
It hasn’t been so easy for the Melbourne Storm, who have also endured a raft of injuries. They needed all 80 minutes to get past the Sydney Roosters last week, and although it was a gutsy effort, there is cause for concern against the Panthers.
Bookmakers have the Panthers at $1.18 in head-to-head markets, which is fair considering they are the two-time defending champions. They are –12.5 with points spread markets, which makes life interesting for punters.
We have no doubt the Panthers are the better team but beating Melbourne by 13 points in a finals game isn’t easy. We expect money to come for the Storm at the line, and they’re good enough to keep it close.
Betting tip: Storm +12.5 @ $1.90

Panthers vs Storm – betr Same Game Multi
We’ve teamed up with betr to provide the GoBet Multi for the first game of every round of the 2023 NRL season.
The Storm getting +12.5 points is too good to pass up, so they’re included in our same game multi. It could be a low-scoring affair as the defence on both sides steps up. Under 38.5 points is worth including as the final score could be 24-14. We also like Brian To’o to score. He has been in fine try-scoring form towards the end of the year, so punters should get value odds for the Panthers winger to cross the line.

7:50pm Brisbane Broncos vs New Zealand Warriors @ Suncorp Stadium
Fireworks are expected as rivals Brisbane and New Zealand battle for a spot in the final.
The Broncos have been one of the most exciting teams all year, and they would have appreciated having the bye last week to rest their bodies.
However, no matter how good the Broncos have looked, the Warriors are rolling, and their defence is good enough to keep them in the game.
The Warriors could have more people in the crowd than the Broncos. Brisbane is saturated with Kiwis, so this won’t feel like a road game for the $3.90 underdogs, especially given their history of beating the Broncos at Suncorp Stadium.
There are more points with the Broncos, but don’t underrate the Warriors defence. It’s solid and getting +10.5 points is too much to ignore. All it will take from the Warriors to keep it close is some solid defence and Shaun Johnson attacking the line.
We expect it to come down to the final 20 minutes, so take the value with the visitors, and they could even nab a late win.
Betting tip: Warriors +10.5 @ $1.90
Broncos by 4
