NRL Round 6 Tips

Thursday 11/4/24

7:50pm Newcastle Knights vs Sydney Roosters @ McDonald Jones Stadium

The Knights always play well at home, and given the injuries to the Roosters, we’re backing Newcastle to win.

It looked good when beating the Dragons 30-10 last week, and the Roosters lost to the Bulldogs, which is a terrible form guide.

Take the –3.5 line available.

Betting tip: Newcastle Knights –3.5 @ $1.90

Friday 12/4/24

6:00pm Melbourne Storm vs Canterbury Bulldogs @ AAMI Park

The Storm are the short favourites to beat the Bulldogs, which isn’t surprising.

The Bulldogs might have pulled off an upset when beating Sydney last week, but winning consecutive games isn’t easy for them.

However, they get a whopping +17.5 line, and that’s too good to pass up. Even if they’re outplayed, they can keep it within that margin.

Betting tip: Canterbury Bulldogs +17.5 @ $1.90

8:00pm Brisbane Broncos vs Dolphins @ Suncorp Stadium

The Dolphins are flying high at the top of the NRL leaderboard, but the Broncos are short favourites to win.

There is plenty of upside with both teams, and at face value, the Broncos are better. However, there is confidence with the Dolphins, who get +9.5 points.

That’s too much to give the leading team, so take the visitors to cover.

Betting tip: Dolphins +9.5 @ $1.90

Broncos by 4

Saturday 13/4/24

3:00pm New Zealand Warriors vs Manly Sea Eagles @ Go Media Stadium

We like what the Warriors are doing this year, and although not a finishing product, they have plenty of upside.

They come off consecutive victories, including an easy win over the Rabbitohs in Sydney last week. That was a great performance, and they could jump on the Sea Eagles.

Manly was great beating Penrith, but coming off that high could see it play poorly in Auckland.

Betting tip: New Zealand Warriors –5.5 @ $1.90

5:30pm Parramatta Eels vs North Queensland Cowboys @ CommBank Stadium

There are big concerns about the Eels’ season following a shocking loss to the Raiders last Sunday.

It was a dismal effort, and playing the North Queensland Cowboys makes life harder for the struggling team.

Momentum is with North Queensland, which sits in second place, and the –3.5 line is well worth snapping up.

Betting tip: North Queensland Cowboys –3.5 @ $1.90

7:35pm South Sydney Rabbitohs vs Cronulla Sharks @ Accor Stadium

With only one win this year, the Rabbitohs are facing an upward battle to make the playoffs.

They have looked poor, and they were thumped by the Warriors in a one-sided game last week.

Coming in fresh after a bye are the Sharks, who are the rightful favourites at $1.43. They should come in confidently, and the Rabbitohs will be without Lattrell Mitchell to suspension.

It could be another one-sided loss for the Rabbitohs.

Betting tip: Cronulla Sharks –6.5 @ $1.90

Sunday 14/4/24

4:05pm Wests Tigers vs St George Dragons @ Campbelltown Sports Stadium

The Tigers came crashing back down to earth last week, but they should fancy their chances against the Dragons.

St George is one of the more inconsistent teams, and whenever it looks good, it’s often followed up with a poor performance.

There isn’t much between them, with the Tigers at $1.82, and that’s a fair price.

Betting tip: Wests Tigers @ $1.82

6:15pm Canberra Raiders vs Gold Coast Titans @ GIO Stadium

The Raiders get a rare chance to win consecutive games when facing the terrible Titans.

Gold Coast isn’t playing well, and it sits in 16th position on the NRL ladder. We don’t see that changing in Round 6, so take Canberra to win easily.

Winning big against the Eels last week should give the Raiders all the momentum they need to win big again.

Betting tip: Canberra Raiders –10.5 @ $1.90

Raiders by 14
