NRL Round 7 Tips

Thursday 18/4/24

7:50pm Sydney Roosters vs Melbourne Storm @ Allianz Stadium

The Storm are narrow favourites to beat the Roosters, and we expect the Storm to prevail despite being on the road.

Sydney has been solid to start the year, but it’s inconsistent, and there is more upside with the visitors on Thursday.

Getting $1.92 for the Storm is well worth including in your NRL picks.

Betting tip: Melbourne Storm @ $1.92

Friday 19/4/24

6:00pm St George Dragons vs New Zealand Warriors @ WIN Stadium

The Warriors are going about their business, and they haven’t lost a step from last season.

They looked good winning three consecutive games before the draw with Manly, and punters never know what to expect from the St George Dragons.

We don’t, so we’re backing the much safer team in the Warriors, who are playing much better football than the Dragons.

Betting tip: New Zealand Warriors –6.5 @ $1.90

8:00pm Parramatta Eels vs Dolphins @ TIO Stadium

The surprise package of 2024 has been the Dolphins, who were playing some of the best league in the competition before their loss to the Broncos last week.

We are surprised to see them as $2.61 underdogs against Parramatta, whose chances largely depend on how well Mitchell Moses plays.

We’re taking the underdog value odds with the Dolphins.

Betting tip: Dolphins @ $2.61

Saturday 20/4/24

3:00pm Penrith Panthers vs Wests Tigers @ Carrington Park

The Tigers have looked solid at times in 2024, but the Panthers should give them a lesson on Saturday.

We’re not sure if the Panthers are as good as they have been over the last two years, but they are much better than the Tigers, even at their worst.

The current line is 13.5, and we’re confident they’ll cover the number.

Betting tip: Penrith Panthers –13.5 @ $1.90

5:30pm Gold Coast Titans vs Manly Sea Eagles @ Cbus Super Stadium

A team impressing us are the Sea Eagles, and despite not always playing their best, they have more upside than the Titans.

2024 got tough for the Titans when they lost their captain to a season-ending injury, and we can’t back them with much confidence.

Bookmakers have the current line at –10.5 for the Sea Eagles, and despite playing on the road, they should prove too strong.

Betting tip: Manly Sea Eagles –10.5 @ $1.90

7:35pm Brisbane Broncos vs Canberra Raiders @ Suncorp Stadium

With all their talent, we expect the Broncos to put up a number on the Raiders.

Granted, the Raiders have been better so far, but the Broncos have a much higher ceiling, and they should start to their star straps.

Last season’s Grand Finalists are only –6.5, and we can’t turn down that offer.

Betting tip: Brisbane Broncos –6.5 @ $1.90

Sunday 21/4/24

2:00pm Canterbury Bulldogs vs Newcastle Knights @ Accor Stadium

There isn’t much between the Bulldogs and Knights in betting markets, which is surprising.

The Knights are a better team, and although the Bulldogs have shown moments of brilliance and came close to beating the Storm last week, they’re not overly consistent.

Getting the Knights at –1.5 is a good line, and we expect that line to move, so snap it up while it’s available.

Betting tip: Newcastle Knights –1.5 @ $1.90

Knights by 6

4:05pm Cronulla Sharks vs North Queensland Cowboys @ PointsBet Stadium

The best match of the week brings the curtain down on Round 7 as the Sharks and Cowboys battle.

It’s hard to confidently suggest backing either team, but the Sharks are always tough to beat at home, and they’re our pick.

Punters get $1.60 for the Sharks, which is a price worth entertaining.

Betting tip: Cronulla Sharks @ $1.60

Sharks by 4
