It was a shocking performance from the Melbourne Storm last week, and we’re not just talking about the loss to the Brisbane Broncos.
Not only were they kept scoreless in a 26-0 game, but some of their star players suffered injuries, such as Ryan Papenhuizen suffering a lengthy leg injury.
Xavier Coates is also in doubt after leaving the game in strife, so we could see the return of Justin Olam, but there isn’t much going right for the Storm.
However, we have mentioned how infrequently they lose consecutive games under coach Craig Bellamy, and it’s not like the Roosters don’t have problems themselves.
The Roosters might have dug deep to beat the Cronulla Sharks, but they suffered injuries, which will influence this game. However, it was a gutsy performance to beat a Sharks team that should have won the game.
Bookmakers have the Storm at $1.32 and –8.5. They’re expected to win, and we think they should have too many weapons for the Roosters to handle.
They should have enough to cover the spread and end the Roosters unlikely run.

The Warriors didn’t risk playing Shaun Johnson against the Panthers last week, which we found perplexing.
They essentially gave up any chance of beating the Panthers to ensure Johnson was healthy to play this game, which is defeatist thinking. However, if Johnson is healthy, the Warriors should beat the rampaging Knights.
Newcastle made it 10 on the bounce when gripping on to beat the Canberra Raiders on Sunday, which wasn’t their best performance. They led by 12 points late, but needed overtime to win, so there are concerns.
Over the course of the season, New Zealand has been a much better team. It’s the more complete package, and with half of Auckland in attendance, the atmosphere will be unlike any other in the NRL.
The Warriors are $1.54 to win and –5.5 with points spread markets. We’re happy to back them with both options, as they should win by a converted try.
