Super Rugby Pacific Round 12 Tips
—
Friday 12/5/23
5:05pm Chiefs vs Reds @ FMG Stadium
The Chiefs are the most dominant team in Super Rugby, and they shouldn’t be tested by the Reds on Friday night.
The Reds weren’t able to beat the Waratahs despite having home advantage last week, so we don’t have much faith in their ability to keep it close against the Chiefs.
Bookmakers have the Chiefs at $1.03 to win and –19.5 in line markets. We think they can pile on the points.
Betting tip: Chiefs –19.5 @ $1.90

7:35pm Force vs Fijian Drua @ NIB Stadium
The Fijian Drua scored their biggest win last week against the Hurricanes at home, which is sure to give them plenty of confidence against the Force.
The Force scored just 13 points in a 48-13 loss to the Crusaders last week, which is why we’re surprised by the odds, which has the Force at $1.80.
It‘s a tricky game for punters to choose, but we’re taking the Drua at $2.
Betting tip: Fijian Drua @ $2

2:35pm Hurricanes vs Moana Pasifika @ Wellington Stadium
The Hurricanes were stunned in Fiji last week, but being back on home soil could see their form turn around.
They have been respected in betting markets as the –22.5 favourites against Moana Pasifika, who lost to the Blues by one point last week.
Given how solidly they are playing, we expect the Pasifika to keep it close. It could be soggy conditions underfoot, which should make for a close contest.
Betting tip: Moana Pasifika +22.5 @ $1.90

5:05pm Crusaders vs Blues @ Orangetheory Stadium
We love the Crusaders vs Blues rivalry, and it should be a close contest on Saturday night.
The Crusaders got back to their best form when smashing the Force last week, which could open the floodgates for another big performance.
We didn’t see much from the Blues when beating Moana 31-30, which wasn’t a good enough performance to recommend.
We’re happy to take the Crusaders at –6.5.
Betting tip: Crusaders –6.5 @ $1.90

7:35pm Waratahs vs Rebels @ Allianz Stadium
The Waratahs got back into contention when beating the Reds 32-24 last week, so they shouldn’t have any problems beating the Rebels with ease.
The Rebels showed some fight against the Brumbies when losing 33-26, but putting up that level of effort two weeks running isn’t the Rebels thing to do.
Bookmakers have the Waratahs at –7.5, and although that’s more than a converted try, they should have too much class.
Betting tip: Waratahs –7.5 @ $1.90

Sunday 14/5/23
2:35pm Brumbies vs Highlanders @ GIO Stadium
The Brumbies come off an impressive win over the Rebels, but the level of opposition is slightly harder this week.
They face the Highlanders, who were smashed by the Chiefs last week, but that’s to be expected from the best team in the competition.
Bookmakers have 9.5 points between them, which is underrating the Highlanders.
Betting tip: Highlanders +9.5 @ $1.90
